This little utility program I wrote will generate template texture maps (like those on your Poser 3 CD-ROM in the Cool Stuff:Templates folder.) This version will let you actually edit the UV map, so you can build custom texture maps just like those Poser 3 uses.
![]() Getting Started Here are some tips for using MAX together with Poser. Read this first!
Click here for some info on making clothing in general There has been a lack of clothing tutorials for Poser, primarily because you cannot make clothing inside Poser. I'll put up some tutorials on how to make clothing using 3DS MAX, because that's what I own. I'll leave the Rhino tutorials to someone else. There are also many other excellent tutorials about how to make skin tight clothing using texture maps, what my tutorials address is how to actually model clothes. Difficulty Level: Easy

Morph Targets are pretty easy, once you have the basics down. Here's a quick tutorial to get you up and running so you can make as many as you like!
OBJ File Format
The OBJ files that Poser uses are actually text files. If you understand how they work, you can load them up in a text editor, and do some tricky things with them. Here's a quick tutorial to get you going. Download PHI Builder V2.1 FreeWare tool for creating Poser 3 PHI files
Want to bring your models into Poser so you can pose them? You'll need to make a PHI file. I've developed my own application for easing what can be a hair-pulling experience. Download FixOBJ.pl Perl Script
If PHI Builder gives you a warning that your OBJ file contains relative vertices, Poser V3.0 will crash
when converting the PHI file that uses it. If you can't wait for the Poser patch to fix this, here's a Perl script
to fix it in the interim. You can load it up in any text editor, comments at the top of the file explain how to use it. Download FacialMorphs.zip
Here's a Poser 3 nude female figure with a few facial morphs to let you make some different faces with more variety to them. Unzip into your Poser 3\Runtime\libraries\character\People folder and enjoy!
